The Backup Gateway 2 is an essential accessory for the Powerwall. It manages the connected between the Powerwall, the grid and potentially a solar PV system. The Gateway 2 keeps you connected to your Powerwall providing you with alerts through the Tesla app. Gateway 2 also turns your Tesla into an uninterruptible power supply, meaning your home will continue running in the event of a grid outage.

Powerwall needs an internet connection to work, this could be via ethernet cable or wifi. Our team can discuss this with you during a survey.
Powerwall will help you become less reliant on the grid and will meet most of your energy needs. It also has the capability to run your home in the event of a grid outage. Contact our team for more information.
In Self-Powered mode, Powerwall charges from your excess solar energy which is generated by your solar panels. Instead of sending the excess power back to the grid Powerwall stores it. This energy is then discharged during the evening and night to power your home.
